at the time my trend channel was tighter and we had the first break there so I was expecting a retest of the lows.

I did not take it as a f2el, more considered it as LH, double top right off the ema to retest the lows or at least range support with a perfect bearish signal bar.

Many times you will see a bar forming like this (perfectly). The following bar is going lower to let traders in and it will reverse immediately.
